Who we help
Two situations we're built for
Most of our clients are small and mid-size companies without a large engineering department. They come to us in one of two ways.
Growing companies
You need software built, and no spare engineers to build it
You have a product, a process or a deadline, and a small team already at capacity. We take the whole project, or work inside your team, and deliver it end to end.
- A new product or major feature, designed, built and launched
- Internal tools and portals that replace spreadsheets and email
- Systems connected and repetitive workflows automated
- Delivery you don't have to manage
Legacy and fragile applications
It works, mostly, but nobody wants to touch it
Few people understand it, every release feels risky, and it's not clear what would happen if it broke. We take it over, make it safe, and modernize it step by step.
- You're afraid to deploy because fixes keep breaking other things
- The developer who built it has left, or only one person knows it
- The framework, language or server is out of date
- Someone says it needs a full rewrite, and you want a second opinion
What we do
Build it. Run it. Improve it.
One senior team for the whole life of your software, from the first design to the support plan after launch.
Build
New software and systems, designed and delivered end to end.
Run
Keep what you already have secure, current and dependable.
Improve
Automate the slow, repetitive work and add AI where it pays off.
How we work
Short, visible and built around demos
You'll see working software early, and you'll always know where things stand.
Discover
A conversation about how the work really happens. We write down what "done" looks like before anything is built.
Plan
A scoped plan with milestones, risks and who does what. You know what you're committing to.
Build
A senior lead and the right engineers deliver in increments, with working demos along the way.
Hand over
Documentation, runbooks and a walkthrough, so your team can run and extend what we built.
In practice
The kind of problem we like to solve
Illustrative examples of the work we scope. Every project starts from your own systems, processes and goals.
Ways to work together
Start small. Go as far as makes sense.
Most relationships start with a conversation and grow from there. You can stop at any step, and nothing locks you in.
Step zero
A free 30-minute consultation
No cost, no obligation, no sales pitch. NDA on request.
Assessment
One to two weeks. An architecture or code review, a workflow audit or a delivery plan. You get a written report with findings, risks and a prioritized roadmap, whether or not you work with us afterward.
What's in an assessmentEmbedded delivery
Our engineers join your team, in your tools, your sprints and your time zone. Right when you want to keep control and add senior capacity.
How embedding worksOwned delivery and support
We take a project end to end, then keep it running under a support plan. Right when you want an outcome, not another thing to manage.
About ongoing supportNo long-term commitment is required. Everything we build lives in your accounts and is documented, so you can hand it to another team at any time.
Talent
Need people as well as projects?
We also place vetted senior engineers and build dedicated teams, based in the US and Canada and working your hours. We accept around the top 5% of applicants.

North American team
Same time zones. Same working day.
Everyone who works on your project is based in the United States or Canada. That means real-time collaboration, overlapping hours, and the context that makes work go smoothly.
We currently focus on companies in the US and Canada. If you're based elsewhere but need work done in those time zones, get in touch and we'll talk it through.

Questions
What people usually ask us first
Can't find your answer here? Email us and a real person will reply within one business day.
Is the first conversation really free?
Yes. The first call is free, about 30 minutes, with no obligation and no sales pitch. You describe the situation, we ask questions and tell you honestly what we'd do, and whether we're the right fit. If you only need advice, you keep it. NDA on request.
What does Bakaya Partners do?
We're a software delivery partner for small and mid-size companies in the US and Canada. We build custom software, take over and modernize legacy applications, keep them running under a support plan, design cloud architecture and automate workflows. We can work inside your team or own a project end to end.
Can you take over an application someone else built?
Yes, it's one of the most common reasons people call us. We read the code, document how the system works, make it safe to change with backups, monitoring and tests, then fix and modernize it step by step. Missing documentation or a departed developer isn't a blocker.
Do you only build new things, or do you maintain software too?
Both. Many clients start with a build or a rescue and stay on a monthly support plan afterward, which covers fixes, security updates, monitoring and a steady stream of improvements.
How do projects work?
We start with a discovery conversation, then write a scoped plan with milestones. Senior engineers build in increments with regular demos, and we finish with documentation and a walkthrough. You can also begin with a short, fixed-fee assessment before committing to a larger project.
Can you work with our team, or take over the whole project?
Either. Some clients want our engineers embedded in their team, working in their tools and sprints. Others want us to own delivery end to end. We'll recommend the model that fits the work, and you can change it as it goes.
What does it cost?
It depends on the scope and the type of engagement. Assessments are a fixed fee, projects are priced per milestone, and support is a monthly plan. After a short conversation we'll give you a clear plan and quote, so you aren't guessing.
Is there a long-term commitment?
No. You choose the term that fits the work, and we agree it clearly at the start. Everything is built in your accounts and documented, so you can hand it to another team at any time.
Where is your team based?
Everyone who works on your project is based in the United States or Canada, so you get overlapping hours and real-time collaboration.
Do you also place individual engineers?
Yes. We place vetted senior engineers and build dedicated teams, part-time to full-time. Every engineer goes through a multi-stage assessment, and we accept roughly the top 5% of applicants.
